South West maintains high levels of satisfaction
There remains a high level of satisfaction amongst South West Trains passengers, according to an independent passenger survey released today by national transport watchdog, Passenger Focus.
The National Passenger Survey, which covers Autumn 2009, shows overall passenger satisfaction at 86%, above the national average of 83% and the London & South East average of 82%, marking an improvement since the last survey in Spring 2009.
Passengers also rated South West Trains highly for the punctuality and reliability of its trains, with 89% of passengers satisfied, again significantly higher than the 83% national average and the 82% average for London & South East operators.
Commenting on the results, Ian Johnston, Customer Service Director for South West Trains said: “We are pleased with these results, which continue to reflect the quality of our operations, and our focus to run punctual and reliable train services for our passengers.
“As the UK's most complex, and largest passenger rail operator, it is an achievement to be rated higher than the average for overall satisfaction, and in areas such as punctuality and reliability. However, there are some areas we need to improve on to ensure that satisfaction amongst our passengers continues to grow.”
